We live in Colorado, and my 58-year-old husband has never been the most fashion-conscious guy in the world, to say the least. He owns one pair of tennis shoes, a few pairs of western boots, hiking boots, and sandals. His dress "shoes" are dress boots!
We are now, however, planning a trip to DC and it is going to be hot, but we want to know what kind of shoes would work well with shorts and Dockers and be comfortable enough to walk around all day on hot concrete and still be nice enough to wear out to dinner at a nice (but not really fancy) restaurant.
Rockports would be good. Brown shoes to go with khaki or navy pants or shorts. Buy them now so he can break them in before the trip, although Rockports don't usually need much breaking in.

Any ideas?
Thanks!
Any ideas? dress up! You are in the Nation's Capital so wear proper attire! If your hubby isn't fashion-conscious now is the time to dress him up!
Get him a proper pair of dress shoes and make sure his attire matches it. Why am I thinking you would love to see him all "decked out"?
Good luck & enjoy DC!
