Some of these outfits are hysterical. Especially the 1965 outfit when I was a freshman in college. Nobody would have been seen dead in that outfit.
I think they just should have completely undressed the dude and left him standing there naked for the time it took to make this video.

I'll take your word for it. I just left it paused with him in his underwear.

I went shopping a few days ago and wondered into what appeared to be the female section. It was the male section.

1965, 1975, 1985, 1995 style = no thanks Jeff.

Well, the Fifities were H.S. and university for me. I don't think the so-called "Ivy League" look (ie. button-down collar, crew neck sweater and chinos) died an instant death in 1960. I moved to NYC right after college in 1960, and in '65, '75 and '85 was unmarried and going out to bars and clubs.

My take - the '65 outfit is unrecognizable, never saw guys dressed like that; the '75 outfit died a quick death in the next two or three years, and that whole nine yards was very few guys' thing; the '85 outfit, again unrecognizable, never saw guys dressed like that.

The Twenties, Thirties and Forties outfits I can find in my parents' old photo albums. But as for later I didn't see men in bars and clubs dressed in those '65 and '85 outfits ever. As for the '75 outfit, the pants and the shirt, yeah, but the whole rig was much too hot and constricting for dancing in for an entire night...Saturday Night Fever or no.

If you want a terrific look into the Fifties, try to find a copy of a large-format paperback Coming of Age in Buffalo by William Graebner. Lots of photos of real young people. I looked and there don't seem to be any web sites showing photos from the book...maybe someone else has more patience.
