Something my friend and I are discussing. What is your opinion?

She noticed that in poor areas, a lot of men wear them

Lol, no. The clothing item in it of itself is not low-class.

Lots of men in low class areas where it for fashion sense thanks hip hop culture. I only wear baseball caps either for attending baseball games or sports bars.

Tell that to Luke Bryan or Kenny Chesney or Darius Rucker of any of the other performers who make quite a good living but also wear ball caps.

No, they are not in and of themselves "low class." Wearing them when they are not appropriate, such as at a "nicer" event, shows a lack of etiquette knowledge.

I am more concerned when a guy appears to be unable to go out without a ball cap on. That sometimes means "hairline insecurity."

Seriously!

100% in agreement.
A ball cap is in no way indicative of the person whose head it sits upon.

when worn backwards, I think looks ghetto or low class.

In the suburb where my parents live, there are so many men who wear their hats backwards. It was the trend when I was in high school and even now, 10 years later, it is still the trend. But it only seems to be in that area. SO and I live about 30 minutes away and I never see any guys wearing their hats backwards. Its so weird. I hate the backwards cap look.

Its a nice middle class area, but for some reason most of the men dress horribly.

No. Not in general. As someone mentioned above it depends on the occasion, but 99% of the time they're just fine.

I love wearing my Dodgers ball cap or any of the ones I currently own. But only when I just want to be casual on the weekend. And my hairline is as good as it's ever been. It's all about the setting and your mood.
