I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong category; I'm not familiar with this site.

I'm wondering if someone can help me with my embarrassing issue. It has been a frustrating and on going problem for me.

I'm a young Caucasian female who has had very dark/discoloration of my inner thighs (or groin) area. The area is extremely dark, almost black even. This has been going on since puberty.

I shower and clean the area daily and I don't use any products on the area. I drink a lot of water and eat healthy for the most part.

I'm not really overweight, however my thighs are quite big compared to my body. They use to chafe really badly in my teen years, especially when I wore jeans. This may have caused it, but I'm not 100% sure. I do not have any medical issues.

I do not wear jeans hardly ever anymore and I don't chafe anymore (thankfully). My skin has never cleared up. I had gone to a dermatologist over a year ago and he had give me 2 different exfoliating scrubs to use. They never worked.

If anyone here has gone through this, or can give me any advice it would be so helpful.

There are skin bleaching creams available. Anything containing hydroquinone is what works best. Problem is, hydroquinone has some risks associated with it (something like possibilities of cell mutation akin to cancer), so it's not available in the USA. I bought mine online from Australia or something. It needs to be applied twice a day for 90 days. I was never consistent or patient enough to make it through the entire 90 days so don't ask me for a success story

I tried it a few years ago, and no cancer for me yet, btw

I would go to another dermatologist. There should be something that works for you other than two scrubs.

Have you had a medical checkup? This can be a sign of diabetes. You should check it out.
