I don't really wear it. It doesn't seem to change my face much, I have oily skin and live in a hot climate so it seems to "sweat" off, even the waterproof/sweatproof type. I will wear some powder or foundation type stuff sometimes to even out my skin tone and hide imperfection. I don't do eye make-up, with glasses you can hardly tell I have it. I don't like the cost either (I can't use the cheap stuff it really messes with my skin) and it does seem like a chore for me. I'm outdoorsy and work a physical job so it seems pointless most of the time.

I know you can do wonders in 3-5 minutes. But I literally start getting ready at the last minute in the morning. Many days I am trying to catch a specific bus. I may wake up with plenty of time but my morning timeline is very tight. I usually don't have those minutes to do what I might want. I possibly could put mascara on while on the bus or train.

The last 5 minutes are for putting on jewelry and perfume. The. Only stuff I do not pick out the night before.

I do keep lip color in my purse, but my goal is to make my skin look as good as possible without makeup. I prioritize using bronzer/highlighter in my moisturizer to add the glow and stay "natural."

When I want more polish I go for a full face.

Since I'm retired and live alone, I don't wear makeup at home or in the yard. I'll put light makeup on if I'm going shopping or on the occasional social outing: teensy bit of foundation for my rosacea, powder, eyebrow pencil and mascara (I DO like to highlight my long, but pale eyelashes.) I worked for a major cosmetics manufacturer for over 5 years, from new product development to manufacturing and testing, so I'm really careful about what brands and ingredients of makeup I use.

It's a matter of priorities...feeling you'd rather spend those three minutes on something else.

I put in the effort for an important social event like a wedding or something, but otherwise, I slap on some tinted moisturizer (Intellishade), blue smudgy eyeliner and mascara, and lipstick. This effort takes about 2 minutes.

I don't care how quickly I can theoretically smear foundation/bb cream/other liquid makeup on my face, I still can't tolerate how it feels on my skin.

I need makeup to make myself look my age. I'm 20 but I look 12-14.

Neat. Do you have any suggestions on that front?

What they said.

I know I can do the basics in little time, but I simply have no desire to do so the majority of the time. I can do tinted moisturizer and lip gloss/tint and be good-to-go.

I am sure this has been asked before, but I am hoping to get honest responses. Why do you like to wear makeup/don't like to wear makeup? How do you feel about makeup in general? NOTE: This is not a thread to bash on people who do/don't wear makeup, but to learn of each other's views!!

I enjoy wearing makeup. I find the routine of applying makeup and putting effort into my appearance relaxing and rejuvenating when I can be leisurely about it. It makes me feel more present in myself and allows me to be creative.

When I was a little younger, I avoided makeup because I thought it was dishonest to make your face look different and that women only wore it because they have low self-esteem. I got this mostly from my mother, whom felt a woman wasn't dressed if she didn't have makeup. She would go so far as to edit photos of me without makeup to look like I was wearing it! This fueled my hatred of makeup even more, but somewhere along the line I started to discard her influence and became more open-minded.

What is your experience?
I think makeup is fine if you like it. I don't bother with it for two reasons. One, I tend to look better natural and two, I look at it as another chore. Plus, when I do wear it I forget I have it on and rub my eye and smear the mascara all over the place. Just not my thing.
