I've seen some really sharp-looking scarves on older women. One lady I knew had to have neck surgery...she coughed too hard and broke a bone in her neck. She wore scarves to cover her scar, but they were a great fashion statement and I never would have known she was hiding a scar if she hadn't told me. She wore the scarves like this: https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/526991593874179047/

In my case, a scarf folded into a wide headband will cover a lot of patchy scalp...brush the hair to the side, kind of like a man's comb-over, tie the scarf over the whole thing, and it looks decent enough to get by without wearing a wig, which is pretty uncomfortable in warmer weather.

I think a simple ribbon in the hair is sometimes cute until age 10. I don't care for big/fancy bows.

After 10 yo, simple barrettes look more appropriate for older girls.

That sounds perfectly fine. ^^^ Not like tying a big bow around a pony tail.

I love scarves. There's a big difference in scarves and little hair bows though. Scarves are classy on a lady but that same lady wearing a hair bow would look silly.

Sure anyone can do what they want and if they want to wear hair bows up till age 100, then go for it, but personally, when would you stop if you would stop?

Generally speaking I think it looks silly on adults. I say by 15 toss the bows. There are most attractive types of hair accessories available.
