I can't separate looks from personality. Guys who seem ugly at first glance can become super hot upon hearing them talk, or getting to know them better, and vice versa.
I used to think Benicio del Toro was super hot after seeing him in Traffic, but then a couple years later I watched an interview with him on Letterman or some similar show, and he was one of the dullest people ever. Crush went poof! Although maybe if we were spending time together and not talking.... it might be ok lol
My current top crushes are Joel Kinnaman - Holder on The Killing and Quinn on Homeland (Rupert Friend). I've watched interviews with Joel and his personality in real life makes him even more attractive than just watching his character in the show.
Cillian Murphy is almost too aloof and inscrutable looking to me, going by photos alone. But there's an unpredictable, smouldering something under the surface, that comes out in his acting. I guess that's why he's a good actor.
Generally, my idea about men's looks are pretty broad, I guess.
Personality certainly counts when spending any amount of time with a person, but from the thread title it was my understanding that this was about looks, specifically.
I can't separate the two either if contemplating some sort of association with the person, but just head-on-good-looks, I mean just visually...I'm not going to pretend I'm the most unshallow woman on earth and that there's no way I could ever simply look at a super-handsome guy and say, "Wow. Good-looking dude."
Hence my Cavill answer. Oh yum.
Does personality count in real life, with real dates?
