I have mentioned it repeatedly about my issues. Blood tests all come back normal & they look at me like I'm crazy. Only one plastic surgeon felt my body is having an inflammatory response & a possible biofilm infection. After speaking to other women who've removed their implants, they've had the same symptoms.
Congrats on kicking cancers butt!!! I don't think I have fibrocystitus. I get my mammogram results back anyday now.
Oh, OK . . . when you mentioned fibro in conjunction with implants, I thought you meant fibrocystitis. You mean fibromyalgia? I've got that too but it hasn't had anything to do with any of the issues I've mentioned here, personally. But maybe there's a connection that I don't know about. That would be really interesting. The temp sure points to an inflammatory response of some sort. Or maybe rejection? I'm not a medical professional - maybe there's someone on here who is and will chime in.
Many seem to misread - I DO NOT WANT larger breasts! I want these poison sacs removed, never to be replaced. I have some fibro symptoms that started since they were implanted. Doctors find nothing wrong except a breast that has capsular contracture which is caused by a biofilm infection.
But your answer makes sense too.
Is it possible to get the breast part covered by your insurance? Be sure and check into that, OP. Because you're having medical problems, you may get the insurance company to foot at least part of the bill. I'm in the pricess of getting my insurance company to cover breast reduction due to chronic back and shoulder pain.
Anyway, I'm not sure if they will since they are the direct result of implants, but they are causing you symptoms, so try and see if the plastic surgeon will hit them up for the dough, not you. In my career, I've done all sorts of things to get insurance companies to pay for ophthalmic claims they didn't want to pay. My philosophy is, "Why pay when you can make the insurance company pay? Get them to pay every single penny you can, even if you have to be a squeaky wheel." It may save you $10K or more.
I've heard that fixing a deviated septum is a pretty hit-or-miss procedure as far as good breathing results go from that procedure. I couldn't tell from the previous posts, but it sounded like you have had rhinoplasty before. If so, your chances for a really good result are decreased. I would research that more if I were you. A $2k savings on a $13k procedure that may not be helpful at all is a poor savings.
The implant removal and tissue lift do sound like a good idea to me and definitely go with the surgeon you trust -- don't go with a cheaper doc that you don't trust especially when you've got possible infection problems to deal with. Do try to get the insurance to cover the implant removal part of the op.
That's correct. I've had implants for 9 years & somewhat of a botched nose job. I no longer want them. $23k is just alot of money.
If the surgery has any impact on your health and improving it, id say yes. If its purely cosmetic, to improve or correct previous work, I would consider it. Thats a lot of money. If it was me (I wouldnt ever have cosmetic surgery unless I was in an accident or something) I would absolutely have anything done that could be a health concern or to correct a bad/botched job. otherwise, i would not spend that kind of money. If its truely a bad surgery job, I would probably pay to correct it (if its terribly noticeable) if its minor then no.
I'm squelching my negative opinions of breast enhancement to try to give an objective answer. I think my answer is that it is NOT crazy to spend $23K on cosmetic surgery, but it IS crazy to go into debt for $23K for cosmetic surgery. In other words, if you had $40K in the bank, sure. But in your situation, I probably wouldn't.
I have never had or even seriously considered plastic surgery; however, I just want to say that I think it is slimy (by the doctors, facility, etc.) that it costs $23,000 for this work to be done.
I am 64 years old and have had 3 breast implants surgeries, 2 facelifts, 1 full face Co2 laser, 1 eye job, Botox and other fillers as well. To me it is all worth it and I will be having more within the year. I will be getting another face and eye job or a full face laser and eye job. If it makes you feel better and you have checked out the physicians credentials it is well worth it!

I am debt free. However, I just turned 37 (single, no kids) and want to tweak what I haven't liked for 10 years. I've been consulting with plastic surgeons for a month now gathering opinions, costs and figuring out what's going on.
I've read several books and learned that a small percent of women get a rare type of cancer from breast implants, infectious mold and a biofilm can form and distort the breast. (My dad also has a rare type of Leukemia only seen in children, that he's currently fighting off.) I've been concerned about my safety since and had some odd health problems in the 9 years they've been inside. I learned my deformed, hard boob is a result of grade 3 capsular contracure from my saline implants on my breast. I want them removed without replacement & a lift. This is also what several surgeons recommend.
One surgeon I particularly like and his partner who's a rhino (nose) specialist, informed me I also have a deviated septum from a previous surgery (and I have a dented nose). Both can fix me while under anesthesia.
I have excellent credit & have found 15 month 0% financing.
I want to know if I'm totally crazy to go $23,000 in debt for these procedures? Anyone else done this? Advice? Should I wait another year and save like mad until I have the funds? Or live comfortably ASAP?
I've consulted with 5 surgeons. I did find one that would be cheaper, however, I had to beg him to do a full capsulectomy (capsule around implants that shouldn't be left inside). He also didn't seem like he'd be honest if he found biofilm, mold, ect on my implants. The surgeon I really like charges $12k for just the breast surgery and the other is $13k for the nose. I'd save a couple of thousand doing both at once.
Thanks for your thoughts.
I wouldn't go $23K into debt for it unless I could pay it off within a year.
