MAC Zoom Lash mascara is excellent. I have used everything from Maybelleine Great Lash to Chanel and find this one to be my favorite. It does everything you'd want a mascara to do- lengthens, thickens, and separates easily. And the price/quantity is reasonable for department store brands.
can we talk mascara wands? which do you prefer--silicone or bristle head? curved or straight? thin or the really big/thick wands?
there are probably purposes for such types of wands, but i really feel that thin, bristly brush works best for me with applying natural mascara. i've tried drugstore ones before (all of them with the newer silicone wands) and i just hated how i had less control. the current natural mascara i'm trying has the bristle wand, but it's so thick that i have a hard time controlling the application. i actually love the formula, but hate the wand. still in search for the best combo of formula (natural but waterproof) and wand (thin, non-silicone)

I agree. I like a long, thinner bristle brush. Hate the plastic ones, and also hate the thick "woolly worm" brushes. Again, this is why I like Rimmel, however the formula is not waterproof, although it is natural and supposed to be good for lashes.
I mostly wear waterproof and have found that I really have to now search for a decent waterproof mascara.
I wore YSL Waterproof mascara for years really liked it, lasted around 2 - 3 months, at the time it was around $26 - $27. Then switched to Loreal Voluminous and thought it was pretty good for around $8 - $12.
Thought I'd switch back to YSL Waterproof now it's $32. I discussed with the sales person what is the average time it would last she said 3 months. So I bought it and not only did they changed the formula (ugh) but it was completely dried out after 6wks and I only used it several times a week, so I returned it.
I have tried Laura Mercier waterproof and liked it, found it was gentle on lashes, however, a little messy to apply and took awhile to dry.
So now I'm back to Loreal Voluminous Waterproof for now.
I did like Almay's washable mascara, stayed on well.
Has anyone tried Dior's Waterproof mascara ? That's the next one I'll try.
Great Thread !

waterproof is the only way for me too. what's good in having lengthening/volume mascara when all it does is smudge around your eyes during the work day?
