I agree that they look fine. You are slim enough to wear them, and the choice of shirt does look good.
My husband, who I said dresses similarly to you, disagrees with me and says that if he walked in tomorrow wearing those he would be the talk of the office. He thinks they are more fratty than professional. Oh well, at least you tried.

Thanks, I appreciate it. That was the wife's point, while they look fine, they're not age appropriate. I see her POV but I'm pretty confident (albeit conservative) with the way I dress. I really don't care what others think, just one person.
You look great with them on! Oh yes! Keep them and wear them! You pull them off well!
I still suggest wearing them around the house for a couple of days. Sure the red is out of your comfort zone, but just as I said before--after a day of wearing my dress with red in it, I absolutely love it. Wore it yesterday out and got so many compliments.
If you feel uncomfortable when you are wearing them, then don't. If you feel fine, put a dark navy jacket with them and enjoy them. I don't feel red trousers are work appropriate though, unless maybe if you work in graphic arts.
I think you look just fine! Good choice of shirt to go with the pants, too. Sometimes it's nice to step out of our comfort zone. It seems to me that you have some feelings of wanting to keep them, otherwise you wouldn't have asked all of us and would have just listened to your wife.
I think they look great, and are work appropriate, depending on where you work. I've worked in a couple offices where they wouldn't stand out much.
