Where Do The Designer Shoes Go (product, fashion, buy, cheap)

How come I never see the very high end (Ferragamo, Lobo, Prada, to name a few) designer shoes at places like DSW Shoes or other clearance shoe stores.

Surely these designers do not routinely sell out of every single style in every size every season

Perhaps there's a 'secret' website like for clothing, HauteLook, Pret a Port.

What am I missing. Is there a place to buy the great shoes at a discount?

They don't show up at DSW. You can occasionally see them at Nordstrom Rack/Neimans Final Call/Barney's Outlet.

Prada and Ferrgamo have a couple of outlets in the US.

Bluefly, RueLaLa are good online choices.

Thank you hertfordshire and Jade! I'm stuck in the hinterlands of the Midwest so no chance of visiting any NYC sample sales. I'll checkout the suggested websites and keep a closer eye on the shoe departments of THe Rack and Niemans! Pls wish these size nine ladies feet good shoe shopping!

I hate cheap (as in no thought given to construction) shoes but that's pretty much the norm here!

DSW is a cut-rate big box store...you will not find "one of a kind" in there!

Designer shoes don't hold value and are box store'sh.


Go for reputable labels that are timeless and hand made. Better product for the same price.

Designer shoes never end up in DSW. The term "Designer Shoe Warehouse" is a misnomer because stuff there are not designer products. Although I found awesome Chuck's and Nike's there!
If you don;t live in NYC, Miami, or LA where they have private sale, try yoox.com.
But if you really want something particular you can hire a personal shopper in your area.

I've seen Miu Miu, Prada, D&G, etc. at DSW.

Try london-o.com. They cater for high quality designer items. Some of my friends are getting their makeup, perfume and other fashion items in there.
