I like the round ones myself. In our optical, the round lenses are becoming more popular again. Everything comes back in style, and lens styles are no exception. I'm not sure if you are going to put a prescription lens in them, but if you are tinting them, I recommend you go for brown or grey. Most people do not like the weird shades like blue, purple, or yellow. It makes everything they see look unnatural, and can even make seeing stoplight colors difficult.
As for tinting, there are two types: solid and gradient. Solid tint is consistent throughout the lens and gradient is dark on top and gets lighter as you go down the lens. Most wearers prefer the solid tint, but people who read a lot in their sunglasses often prefer the gradient, as it helps make reading easier. You cannot get gradient tinting in polarized lenses (the type which offers UV protection); only in tinted lenses (dyed lenses that are not polarized).
