It's not so much a drug as a beverage, and in that aspect it's no different than calling a shade of red "claret" or "burgundy" or a different shade of green "chartreuse".
OP--maybe do a little research--absinthe is a drink.
No different than any other color named after a food, spice, or drink, be it mustard, claret, or cinnamon, for example. It's a distinctive shade of green, which is what the stylist wanted to note in the selection of the color name.
