I look at other 20 year old males and the majority of them look alot older than me and actually look like men. I have tried to adopt strategies to overcome this issue, at the moment i'm wearing more mature outfits e.g. shirts etc but this does not have much of an effect on my facial features. I have also tried to grow facial hair but again it doesn't do much if anything to improve the situation.

I'm running out of ideas and this is starting to get old. Do I have to accept this and let it run it's course or is there anything else that I can do? I didn't expect to look like a 16 year old at 20..
I had the same problem that you have people used to call me a late bloomer.

And I hated it when I was younger , I wanted to look older and more mature.

In the end , however this delayed aging worked for your good when in your 60"s & 70's you look 20 to 30 years younger than your peers.

I'm in my mid-sixties and I thank God that I look 20 to 30 years younger than what I actually am. I Just make sure that all of my actions are those of a mature adult and not those of a wet behind the ears kid.

Just hope your young looks last. There will come a time when "you don't look that old" will really make you feel good.

Chances are, there will come a point where your features change and you start to look a lot closer to your real age. Until then, there really isn't much you can do about it.

And, unfortunately, you need to be prepared for the fact that you may always look much younger than your age. My wife is almost 40, and still looks like a college student. She is often mistaken for a teenager, because we live in a college town and she dresses young. When we go to functions at the campus, people ask her how she likes studying in America, because she's Asian and they assume she's an exchange student.

At this point, I am starting to believe that she'll look like a college kid until her hair starts to go gray. If you're anything like her, it just may be something you'll have to learn to live with.

enjoy it while it lasts, buddy.

It is true, some women, and career opportunities might pass you by in your 20s, but if all goes well when you're in your late 30s you'll still have the "option" of dating women in their 20s... I might sound like a braggart, but I had/have this problem too.

Also, see an endocrinolgist/thyroid specialist. On the bright side, delayed onset of puberty is correlated with very long life span. You might live to be 80-90-100 years old.

This is the most maddening part. You can be a highly experienced professional, but new colleagues you approach about collaborating, or doing some kind of business may gloss over you as if you're an intern, or something. It can be a hindrance on the job. And women really aren't interested in being approached socially by guys who are some embarrassing fraction of their age.

Looks like a mod caught on as the posters user title is now "not a member".

lol I was carded when I was 30 and the drinking age was 18. I had my children at 30 and 35. When they were young, a Salesman came to the door and asked to speak to my MOMMY. ROFL Hey, I will go with that. She's SLEEPING. Slam the door!

On a more serious note, there was child predator casing the neighborhood. I waited with the kids at the bus stop. A car pulled up and the guy asked the kids if he could give them a ride to school. I sat on the ground and pretended to be one of the kids. When he got out of his car and started towards the kids, I got up and confronted him. As soon as he saw I was an adult, he ran and drove off. Took down his plate number.

Looking younger than you actually are can have it's advantages.
