Mineral Makeup
I've tried two different brands: Beauty Bliss and Signature Minerals. I like both very much. Beauty Bliss is bismuth-free (an ingredient in Bare Escentuals that sometimes causes irritation) and has a slightly wider variety of shades. Signature Minerals, however, is slightly less expensive and comes in more sizes.
BB sells samples for about $1.25 each, and Signature Minerals offers a "sampler kit" of 5 or 6 products (foundation, eye shadow, blush, etc.) for shipping cost only (about $6).
My daughter (16) and I have been very pleased with both products.

Am I the only one who has tried Bare Escentuals and doesn't care for it? I have a whole bunch of the stuff and have used it numerous times but it seems to cake in the fine lines under my eyes and makes the lines stand out and look more obvious - and I don't use that much! I love their eyeshadows, though. I have probably every makeup brand known to mankind and I always go back to MAC. I like the idea of using a powder foundation, but all of the powders I've tried either don't stay on or cake up in my under eye lines. For some reason, the MAC foundations never do this to me.

Yes Mineral works great for me esp. because it looks so natural and breathable. I am a makeup artist and i use Motives customized minerals. They are fabulous. Have you ever tried minerals before?

I wore the L'oreal minerals for a while last year and did not really like it. Now I'm using Pan Stik because of coverage and the way it matches my skin. I actually like regular makeup and always have. My mom got me Bare Minerals for Christmas and due to the negative L'oreal experience I have not wanted to use it. I'm not convinced that minerals really cover anything unless they are caked on.

I tried bare escentuals and hate it. It made my face look all shiny and it also itched. Tried another brand and didn't care for that look either... so I am back to just using Dr. Hauschka powder and nothing else....

Do you mean you aren't familiar with mineral make-up in general? Lots of places to purchase these days. I represent a company that sells it. If interested in more info you can PM me.

minerals
I've used some Bare Escentuals (Bare Minerals whatever it's called) and Pura Minerals. I like a few of the products from both lines. My fave are the shadows and mineral veil from both lines.

I use mineral makeup. It takes some getting used to but once you can figure out how to correctly apply it, it is a much better more natural look. And if you have sensitive skin it is good for that too. It isn't cheap though & since I found one that I like I'm not about to switch esp. since I do have sensitive skin. I just spent over $100 the other day on a blush, concealer & finishing powder.

I felt the same way. The sales person at Sephora discouraged using it over liquid for those with older skin or dryness and fine lines. Looks great on younger skin with small pores and very fine lines.
