I bought a pair of dark tinted glasses. I think they were around $160.00.
I bought them strictly for vanity. My eyes are messed up, so I opt to keep them hidden. And it was a step down from surgery. lol
They look better than typical sunglasses I see, and I think they hide my eyes well enough. So, the money was worth it. Now I can stop trying to pull my hair in front of part of my face.
But those are my "On the go" pair. If I am home, they stay in the case in my purse.
At least Ray-Bans says Made in Italy. No way I would fork out couple of hundred for Chinese. Where are Oakleys made? I wouldn't go much higher than $100. The most I have paid are for Under Armour and Nike sunglasses. You can tell the hinge and the temple are of very high quality. That's usually the difference compared to the $5 gas station sunglasses.
Oakleys are made in California. They are fantastic and well worth the money.
I, personally, pay no more than $10-$20 for sunglasses. I get the UV blocking store brand. I keep one pair in the car for driving and one in the house for my walks.
I'm sure I've never paid more than around $20, except for the pair I have now. They were probably between $30 and $40, just because I saw them in an ad and really liked them.
I just can't get into sunglasses. If I like how they look, that's it. I'm usually buying them off the kiosks down by the restaurants/shops on the water.
I used to know this woman who had a pretty low-paying, I would think, job. She had several pairs of designer sunglasses, that cost several hundred dollars each. I was amazed. She dressed very low-key otherwise. People just have their thing, I guess.

I am as brand conscious as the next guy but there is a limit I'd pay for a pair of sunglasses. If I ever buy a designer glass it'll be the Ray Ban. I saw them today go anywhere from $150 to $220 at an outlet store. None were on sale. I just couldn't bring myself to fork out even the $150 price tag.
I usually just get something cheap at Walmart for like $10 or $20. Those sunglasses that cost $100 or more better be made out of gold before I fork my money over for it lol

I love my Ray Bans and they are classic and the quality is there. I would splurge on a pair if I really loved them and they were unique but $200. would be my max and only if I was given money as a gift to spend on myself. I just can't justify splurging on glasses.
