Well, la dee da. Who does this Sophie Theallet think she is ! I rather doubt that beautiful, classy, Melania Trump needs her designs, or her advice. She always looks stunning and perfectly polished.

That black and red 'black widow spider' dress she designed for Obama's coronation looked like hell (as well as some of her other 'creations'). I'd run from that designer as fast as possible if I were Melania.

Sophie Theallet can go straight to Hell. Obviously Melania obtains her fine clothes somewhere, so she'll have no trouble finding a designer.

Her style is hideous.

No. Loss.

No doubt Melania is saying, "Who?"

If that "splotch" number is any indication if her work, Melania won't be asking for her services lol.

She may have redeemed herself, though, for all I know because I don't keep track of FLOTUS designers. Like all first ladies, MO has donned hits and misses. I do know that Carolina Herrera has designed some of her gowns, and they're gorgeous. I like a lot of the solid jewel-tones that she wears. IMO, the prints aren't as flattering--except I do remember a black (or dark blue?) gown with a busy, floral print that I thought was stunning.

Anyway, how unprofessional of that designer. As we're seeing, it takes all kinds.

I thought it was about "loaning" her clothes.

It's her way to get attention. Before this nobody heard of Sophia.

The clothing design business is a cutthroat one. Therefore, most designers realize that it is a great opportunity to have someone in the public eye wear their clothing line. Melania or for example, Kate Middleton, wear a new dress, many women want that dress, too.

This designer, Sophie, is very foolish.

Well it doesn't look like designers are claiming ownership of Melania's outfits like they do with other celebs and influential figures.

I think, particulaualry in the case of Melania, who shops on her own it seems, it would be hard to enforce. But designers can choose who they want to dress, gift or acknowledge. Doesn't bother me.

Here is another angle on fashion and the trumps.

I am boycotting Ivanka's clothing, although I think it is cute. It is off topic for this thread. While I like her classic items, they are still made in China, and I am trying to get away from that.

I like both Michelle Obama's edgy classic style and Melania's super polished clothing choices and will continue to look at both for ideas.

Sophie is a bit presumptuous. Melania and Ivanka don't need her. Let's face it, Ivanka needs to start making her clothes in the USA. That change could mean even bigger bucks for the Ivanka line.
