I don't think I've shopped there since the 90s. I didn't actually know it WAS still in business.

You know, I think that was part of the reason it closed. I'm in my mid 40's and started shopping there a year ago and have really found some great clothes. But it was hard to get over the fact that it was the same store I shopped at when I was 16. The clothes evolved and were targeting 30's and 40's.

Overprice, poorly-made throw-away clothing.

I wish they were targeting the over 30 crowd although maybe they were lately. I don't think I had been in one for several years. Previously I would venture in there at times - thinking maybe I would get lucky as I used to be there and then there would be nothing at all for me. I guess they just totally lost their way, and with the crappy quality.... There's H and M which is pretty junky ( I dont mean to offend anyone) but then when you pay little$ you don't have expectations of longevity.

I think they were definitely targeting the over 25 market. The clothing was not edgy or young like Forever 21 or Express. It also had none of the whimsy seen in some of Loft's clothing (like some of the prints). But yeah, the last few years saw issues with fit, proportion, and decrease in quality of materials.

I will say I'm glad I grabbed all colors of the trouser leggings (really like ponte pants). IMO, it was the best item The Limited had produced in the last five years.

Wow! I bought most of my work clothing from The Limited in the early to mid 80's when I lived on Long Island. At that time they had a lot of very nice clothes for professional women. But like a lot of retail stores these days, the quality started going downhill. I wonder if that happened when almost everything was being made in China? Back then I never really noticed where my clothing was made.

In the 80s, the Limited was THE place to shop for teens. My mom didn't invest much in my wardrobe back then so I remember being extremely jealous of my peers who would shop there.
Now, I've bought a few pieces from there. I think the quality of material has declined, and there are much better places to shop.
I agree with one poster, though. It is the end of an era.

Exactly! I haven't been in one since the 90s either.

Structure FTW! I stopped buying clothes there once I hit my mid-20s or so.
