It s as varied as shoe size! Why not go and get sized instead of guessing?

That had to be the most impossible thing to answer ever. There is no relationship between weoght and ring size.
For example, I wear a size 16 (in misses) clothing. My ring size on my ring finger is 5.5. My sister is the same clothing size as I, less than an inch taller and wears a 7.5.

A size 10 is the standard size we carry in the store for men. But I've seen 6'3 guys with size 8 fingers and size 13 fingers. More often than not, the rings have to be sized or ordered in their size.

Buy it huge so you can resize easily downward.

Some rings cannot be resized, either because of material or design.
The OP really should be sized before buying.

No way to guess. There is no correlation.
I'm relatively short for an adult male, medium build. I wear a 9.5 on my ring finger. Apparently, I have short and stubby fingers...
You can buy a ring sizer(s) on amazon for very little money. Either "borrow" a ring and measure it or ask him to fit his/her finger. (that's what I did for engagement ring)
https://www.amazon.com/Mandrel-Sizer...ng+sizer&psc=1
Certain materials cannot be resized.... If this is a wedding band or engagement ring, I recommend sticking to materials that can (gold for example) because ring sizes do change with age.
