My sister and I were just talking about what we missed about 80s fashions - pleated skirts, shoulder pads, bright colors, chunky jewelry, skinny lapels.

And my suits! I had so many suits - I loved them. I had a peach and grey tweed suit that I wore until it fell apart, and a dark purple wool suit that I wore often with a lime green silk blouse.

I don't miss my perm - which was chin-length and never big or frizzy, but I'm glad I cut it off.

I love big, voluminous hair, still. Not all the nasty product and backcombing, but the total boomerang to limp flatironed hair got old.

I liked the fashion of the 80s. And I still like it better than anything else that has surfaced since. It was more colorful and there was more variety. But perhaps that's because my formative years of middle school and high school were in the 80s.

My sisters definitely had the big hair and the shoulder pads. I (guy) didn't care the way I dressed, but I remember so many of the guys in high school had the New Wave style going.
