I am curious about something. For men, did you have a Mullet? For women, did you have the big hair and shoulder pads? I think the 80s was the craziest decade for fashion/style for both men and women. Did you really like it?

My hair was yuuuuge. Aquanet was my best friend. Not so much on the shoulder pads. That was for the preppie crowd that used to flip up the collars on their alligator shirts.

Yes. The two main looks where I grew up were "Preppy" and "New Wave." My friends and I all wanted to look as "New Wave" as possible.

Huge permed hair, teased large. Glittery make-up. This friend of mine had this purple blush she would bring to school and we would all put some on in the bathroom. I'm sure we just looked bruised.

Yep. I had huge permed hair with lots of Rave hairspray. And I definitely loved shoulder pads.

Sweats with shorts pulled over. Lol, still do that. Drives my sister nuts. Other than that I was a Levi 501 guy. Did have quite long hair. Not "big" in the metal style, just long. Down to between my shoulders at it's peak. When I cut it finally nobody recognized me. Cut short it definitely made wearing my cowboy hat easier. Took the stampede string off even.

There is no way I would have ever considered a mullet, but my wife did have a "perm" in the 80s. I was working in an office that required suit and tie, so fairly conservative, short hair, despite having the more "hippy" long hair in college during the early 70s.

Not the big hair but the sausagy feathering. Curling iron and I had a very close relationship.

I did the shoulder pads once I was working in offices late 80s. They were already in the dresses I bought.

We had preps and freaks at my school. I was in the prep crowd. Freaks had big hair, mullets, etc.

I did so love feather earrings...although that was a freak symbol.

Big hair, no. Shoulder pads, yes. And I also had harem pants and a bright red 10 button henley from The Limited that I wore until it fell apart.

I have naturally curly hair that is pretty thick. I didn't need to do anything to make it bigger. Does anyone remember Rebecca Gayheart and her 90s noxema commercials and getting offed in scream? Anyway my hair looks like hers.

No to shoulder pads, though in middle school, I had some crazy geometric 80s sweaters.

I'm a guy and was a child in the 80s but I had a nice curly mess going on up there. I keep it short now.
