I am especially curious for those that have been around long enough to see several decades of fashion trends.

Up to the 90s it's usually easy to look back and notice some...rather unflattering trends that both men and women have had.

But if you were asked to name one fashion trend from the 00s and the 00teens (not sure if that's a good way to put 2000-2010 and 2011-2017 lol) one for men and one for women that you found particularly bad, what would you say?

I am still young and came of age during those years so it's a bit different for me but I'd say:

2000s: Women: Whale tail. Men: Huge cargo pants. 20teens: Women: Aztec and Navajo inspired patterns featuring diamonds and triangles, especially on T shirts, socks etc. Men: Neon colors and elaborate T-shirts

Those are some odd choices, other than the cargo pants I haven't noticed any of those things being prevalent.

For women, the recent trend in messy hairstyles with the ends sticking out all over the place (google Renee Young for an example).

I also genuinely hope that fake eyelashes and overdone makeup end up in the same category. Those things are fine for an evening out or a stage performance, but a bit much as a daily out-and-about look.

ETA: Livestrong bracelets and any other similiar rubber/plastic bracelets.

Fashion itself - judging people based on clothing.

The hipster look for guys. The cloths look too small and then the beard. It looks so contrived.

Guys: Tight pants hanging below the waist. WTF is going on here??

Girls: See-thru. We get it, you have a nice body and like to show off.

If these are supposed to be the trends of now, I don't think I've ever seen them.

The only trends I can think of from now that people might regret in a few years is the multicolored hair on women, and the full beard look on dudes.

Look up ikat patterns, those are the fabrics mentioned in that post. They were pretty popular 2 or 3 years ago.
