Regular pedicures but hardly any manicures. I used to get French tip manicure but around here everyone seems to go the fake nail route there. So I won't get that done here.

To me, those long fake nails look so unsanitary. Imagine the stuff living under there.

As usual, I'm the weirdo that has never had either. Just.....doesn't interest me.

Girls, are you out there?

I had my first pedicure last year...it is worth $20 just to sit in the massage chair! They almost all have the kind that cost $10,000 in the Brookstone catalog, that massage you everywhere (the back-punching cycle is my favorite). Plus cute toes to boot. I like it on the summer with sandals or bare feet, and pedicures last weeks, much longer than manicures. I used to get manicures every 2 weeks, stopped last year when I had back problems. I do miss my nails, it was like jewelry I didn't have to take off and out back on, and now that I stopped, I'm biting my nails again.

Never had a professional mani or pedi but I have had a friend do my nails. Usually I do them myself.

Never had either one. I don't like people touching my feet and I rarely wear nail polish.

Nope, never and I'm 70 yoa. Why pay someone to do what I can do for myself? Never felt the need or even the desire to. Of course there is the cleanliness/disinfecting issue at salons to worry about. No thanks.

and it makes you wonder how they can do anything with them in the way. Cleaning etc. Oh well, to each his own.

I have acrylics but I don't wear them very long, maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch past the nail bed. I have to go every other week as my nails grow very fast. Some people never seem to clean under the nails and it is gross and probably full of germs.

I always wash under my nails with a clean nail brush and soap before I start cooking. When I'm in the shower I run my nails over the bar of soap before I shampoo and then again before bedtime when I slather on the hand crème. I could probably perform surgery with my hands and no gloves but then I'm a bit of a germophobe.

I had at least 1 professional manicure that I recall but never a pedicure (at least not a professional one, anyway).
