On the radio today I heard some guys saying men should button their shirts from the bottom up. The other way is how women do it.

I am 37 years old and have always done it from the top down because that's how my mother taught me. She was a single mother and I've never had a male role model so this floors me and kind of makes me wonder what other things I do that are supposed to be how women do it?

Which wrist should my watch be on?

Button your shirt however you feel comfortable buttoning it. There's not a men's way and a women's way to button a shirt.

Typically the wristwatch is worn on the left wrist.

But if you're left-handed you can wear it on the right wrist so you're not always bumping it as you do stuff.

Buttoning a shirt from the bottom keeps you from getting your shirt buttoned unevenly--has nothing to do with gender.

Actually I find that I mis-button my shirts more when starting at the bottom.

A more important question, rather two, is whether one should put the left or right sock on first and before or after your underwear.

That's funny that's why I was taught to button from top down

I'm really not bothered, that's just the way it is, I just thought it was funny that men have a certain way they're supposed to be doing it.

There is a difference between men's and women's buttons, though--men's shirts have buttons on the right placket, women's buttons are on the left.

This article has all the reasons for the difference, including drawing weapons to breastfeeding to having servants dress you: https://www.theatlantic.com/technolo...uttons/388844/

I always start buttoning from the middle. I must be a weirdo.

And the watch always on the left wrist. Always. No excuses.

Also, do you put on a sock and a sock and a shoe and a shoe, or a sock and a shoe and a sock and a shoe?
