I think people are afraid to appear shallow by saying they have an interest in fashion, when I don't view it that way at all; I'm surprised at how many people would answer 5 or less while reading a sub-forum largely about fashion. I think simply by choosing to read a fashion & beauty forum it would discredit anyone from selecting a 1 on a scale of 1-10..

burlap sack?? not quite.....

so, i will give myself a 1.5 ... clean and comfortable and reasonably flattering and I am good to go.....

and the only reason I am in this thread is that it kept popping up in the "active threads" box on the right side of my page....

I really don't care about fashion for myself. But it does amaze me to read some of these posts. Why would anyone think that specific shades of pink/whatever matter? In the scheme of things, fashion seems trivial. So I read these posts and shake my head.

Probably an 8. I love fashion, always have. There was a time when I had dozens of pairs of shoes with matching handbags (when matchy matchy was a thing) and if I was wearing a red blouse, guaranteed I was wearing a red bra with matching panties. I once spend $2K in one weekend of shopping when I first moved to Long Island in the early 80's. I bought cashmere sweaters, two winter coats, boots, suits, gorgeous blouses. Those were the days!

Now, living in Florida and only working two days a week, I dress much more casual but I still won't leave the house looking like a mess. I had my nails done with a beautiful pastel blue color so I will be wearing clothes that go with blue until my next mani/pedi. Hmm, can we say mild OCD?

I'd say a 5. I like to be somewhat fashionable, but I will buy anything I like no matter if someone else likes it or if it's "in style". Even if I see it at Walmart, LOL!

I like to observe fashion because I like things like art and design and color but as far as applying it to myself, maybe a 6. Also, I really hate fads and trends.

LOL I am not into fashion/beauty at all, but I sometimes get sucked into these threads

To answer the question: 2, because I don't want to look completely horrible

There's this little book called, The Satanic Witch, by Anton LaVey, and that's the fashion principles I follow.

It's really complicated, but Red, White, and Pink are the best colors, and if you are overweight Black. In a nutshell, wear clothing that shows your shape. Think Marilyn Monroe.

I would put myself as probably a 7. I'm not like crazy obsessive but I like getting newer fashions and making sure I look good when I can.
I'm the same. Also, I'm a minimalist. All i need are a few pieces of trendy items and I'm good. Once something goes out of style, it gets tossed or donated.

There is nothing "fashionable" about jeans, work shirts and boots, so I guess I have to say -1.
That's what I wear 7 days a week.
