Probably a 7 or 8.

I'd say a 2. Im a dude and I dont really care about fashion at all, but I absolutely care about making sure that I have certain brands that I really like because of their fit, style and quality. Brands like Lululemon (shirts), D Squared (jeans), Buffalo (jeans), Mizuno (running shoes) are pretty much what I HAVE to have. But these arent really what I would consider "fashionable" as its more about quality and comfort.

Has to be comfy but I like certain things (like t-shirts with funny stuff on em).

Mostly I wear shorts and t-shirts.

To me being fashionable means keeping up with current trends, whereas stylish means looking sharp, elegant, well put together, and having your clothing reflect who you are.

I've figured out what looks best on me and made these "my style." I like to present myself in a polished and classic way, so I dress in coordinated outfits that flatter my figure and coloring. I've had most of my clothes for 15-25 years, yet they never look dated. So, I'm not really concerned with the latest fashion. Rather, I like to look stylish.

To answer the OP, for me fashion would be a 2 and style would be an 8.

Can I vote -10?

I think it's an overall negative influence on society.

I would probably say a 7. I don't buy high-end designer brands because I can't afford them, however, I keep up with IZOD's latest spring trends.

My favorite post of this entire thread. Kinda sums up how I actually feel about it as well.

Reading through the posts here I have to laugh at all the 0-5s that people posted yet here they are participating and posting in a Fashion Forum.

I also enjoy watching Project Runway.
Why? Bc of the creativity and constructive process. Same reason I like watching furniture making contests, cooking shows, etc.

You can have many interests in how things are done without having to dive deep into them yourself.

How many people watch and talk about football but don't play it?

Perfect explanation Sage!

On the style scale I'd say I'm about a 7. I have a fairly defined idea of my style but I am also experimenting some to incorporate new shapes and themes. I generally look purposely put together. I also try to balance "fun" clothes and "hip styles" without looking like a teenager or an adult that is trying way too hard.

As for fashion, I care some. I scan the trends, see if they are shapes and colors I like, and proceed from there. I'd call it a 5 for me. I'm aware of what is going on but it may not make it into my wardrobe.

I think I am perceived as stylish.

I'm probably a 3 or 4. I hate shopping and have little clue what's in style, I just want to be comfortable and decently covered, and not embarrass my husband or teenage daughters. 90% of the time I wear jeans or shorts and T-shirts.

For what it's worth, I very rarely look at the Fashion forum, but I saw the title of this thread while running my eye down the general forums list, and it looked interesting because it's something even I have an opinion on.
