Not around here. Those are fairly common around here with all segments of the population, gay, straight, male & female.

It's kind of shocking how many people consider carrying stuff around in a bag as an inherently (and insultingly) female or gay activity.

I've seen a lot of guys wear over the shoulder type bags, but usually when they have work to do or just came back from work/school. If a guy wants to use a bag, just use it and ignore the haters. When enough guys start carrying their own bags around then it might become the new norm.

Men are the ones finding it to be strange, not women. Men perpetuate the macho culture, so they're going to have to destigmatize it amongst themselves. Men in other countries don't have such rigid ideas about clothing, physical contact, or behavior...
