I haven't had a kid, so I wondered if this is common? If so, do you have any issues over it?

Yup, thats the not-so-fun surprise after losing the baby weight. In spite of religiously using cocoa butter and Bio Oil, that's pretty much how my abs look.

It is common in women post-pregnancy. Even I have it from getting pregnant and giving birth to my first born. It is like a souvenir to remind me that I gave a beautiful life to my own flesh and blood.

Everyone is different. My stretch marks aren't anything like that. I've had three babies. While I got a few stretch marks during pregnancy, most developed during labor and delivery. All of my stretch marks are below the belly button. I'm built differently than this lady. Maybe she was a smaller person or had twins or something. It's not something to be embarrassed about.

It just depends if you picked the right parents or not. Some women get them, and other don't. It just depends upon the elasticity of your skin.

Yes, they are. That's what excessive stretch marks look like on a person with low body fat; the skin gets a crepe-y texture.

I only have one kid but knock on wood I never got a single stretch mark. My sister and mother don't have them either so genetics most likely plays a role.

It kinda does scare me, that's why I asked. She is so toned and fit, too!

And when really obese people lose weight, they must look like that all over!?

I had them long before I was ever pregnant. I got them on my hips in puberty when I grew about 4 inches in a short period of time and my pelvis widened as girls' do with sexual maturity. They faded over time and, as I have very pale skin, are no longer noticeable like they were when they were new.

I didn't really get many in either pregnancy, years later, though, but my weight gain in pregnancy tends to be very gradual, versus the "suddenly pop out" thing some women experience. I also never got any on my abdomen. Only hips and thighs, where I traditionally gain and lose weight.

My husband has had some for years, mainly on his biceps, from weight training years ago for the military.

Skin/tissue elasticity varies, and affects your succeptibility to stretch marks.
