Curious about this, since it seems all-pervasive.

Ever since I was a kid, the idea of it creeped me out, so I never did. I always imagined earrings getting caught on something, or some attacker yanking them out. I admit they look good though.

Anyone else?

I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 15. They stay that way for about a year, then I let the holes close up again because they never healed. Anytime I tried to put some on again, there was pain, and bleeding again.

Did help that the earrings would sometimes get caught in my hair, and when I pull my hair away from my face, it would pull the earrings, causing more discomfort.

Tried it, didn't work. So currently, no. My ears are no longer pierced.

My daughters don't. They both had their ears pierced when they were babies and the older one's piercings ended up too close to the edge of the earlobe as she grew. Her little sister had allergic reactions to every kind of earrings we tried and so we had to let the holes close up.

My older daughter wants to have her ears pierced again, but she needs to have it done with a needle at a piercing studio, rather than the stapler-like thing they use at Claire's or Walmart, and her dad is worried about germs.

I don't have pierced ears. I don't like it when they do it to little kids. But I like it on some grown up women. Men - nope.

I no longer have my ears pierced. Earrings bother my ears. My daughter is scared to get her ears pierced and may never do it. If she does, I will take her to her peds office or a tattoo places that also does piercings.

Agreed. I did have mine pierced a couple of times when I was younger…all closed up now.

I find it gross when the earlobes hang down from the weight. Looks very saggy and gross.

I do have pierced ears on the bottom, but I also used to have the top rim of my ear pierced as well. I let that piercing grow closed, because I didn't like sleeping with a stud in my ear that jabbed the side of my head. If I didn't keep something in the hole, it would start to close up...so I just finally let it grow closed.

No. When I was a little girl, I saw a classmate get her earrings caught in her long hair. The holes tore. It looked so awful.

Body art/piercing seems unnatural to me anyway.

I don't have pierced ears. My late husband nearly lost me the first Christmas after we met when he bought me some pierced earrings after having known me for almost a year and having seen me and my ears several days a week during that period.
