Well, if she throws in a Lasik treatment, I'd run away.

I'd tip 15-20%. It's common courtesy for a job well done. As with all services, tip less or none if you were not satisfied.

Most people don't tip on a medical procedure.

It was done in a salon, not in a medical facility, and not by a medical professional.

That's my point, it SHOULD be done by a medical professional.

Nearly all trained estheticians do microdermabrasians... Do you go see a nurse for a facial?

Sounds scary. I got mine done at a dermatologist. No tipping there.

If you typically tip, the amount of time is not the deciding factor. Round it down to $10.

I just got my hair highlighted and styled, it came to $90. I left a $20 tip with the receptionist asking her to pass it to my stylist. The lady looked at me like I was crazy and asked if I wanted some change back. Uhhhhh...no. I always try to tip about 20% depending on what I have in my purse, and this guy is highly sought after, so I don't know if the lady thought I was weird for tipping a little over 20%, or what.

Depends. If it's not medical grade (strength) equipment, it can be done by an aesthetician. But it probably won't be as effective.
