It was my first time hiring a tailor to make a suit for myself. The tailor took down my measurements. I had monogram on my shirt, pick stitchings on my suit ... I did not know these things. Does anyone know about tailored suits? The tailor markets himself as "bespoke legal tailor"? How do you know you are getting what you paid for? I paid $2,200 for a suit; off shelf suits with alterations are a lot cheaper.

I'm sure you got references and saw multiple samples of his work, right? Multiple fittings?
