I used to be able to polish my toes without too much problem - not the same as a full pedicure but getting a quick coat of color on there. I wanted to do a quick polish change last night and realized that in my mid 50s, the combination of less flexibility and less than perfect eyesight made it a big challenge!

I think those days are gone, and I'll just have to get to the salon when I want fresh color.

How about you? Still doing the tootsies yourself?

Yep. Even when full-term pregnant. The L&D team was super impressed I had a DIY pedicure each time.

I'm impressed too! I couldn't see my toes, never mind reach them to paint them! lol!

I get pedicures on rare occasions, but generally do my own. Fortunately, while I'm the same age as the OP, I'm still quite flexible and have no problem whatsoever doing my own pedicures.

I've only had one salon pedicure in my life after I broke my ankle a few years ago. Otherwise I always do my own.

I do my own when I feel like it...but it's not a regular thing for me.

Here's what I do. I put on/splash on/paint on like a 5 yr. old the night before. The next day, after my shower, I scrape the excess polish off of the skin around my nails. It works.

I've never been able to be neat when applying finger nail polish. Not to my fingers, and not to my toes. This is the method I use. LOL

I'm 60.

Yes, I polish my own toes and fingers, but I just recently started bothering to use a base and top coat.

I'm also in my mid-50s and regularly do my own pedicures. I had a pedicure once, years ago, and the technician left my feet so raw and cut up that I never went to a "professional" again.

No! I don't want to pay $20.00 for a top coat & nail polish, that will only thicken up in a couple of months and then throw it away. I would rather relax in a massage chair and have a professional do it.

Lol!

That's sort of what I do. I'm pretty neat about it, but I do try to time it before a shower just in case. Any mistakes I might make come off easily.
