No Necklace with evening gowns (celebrities, look, American, thin)

Watching the major award ceremonies( Oscar, Emmy, etc.), It seems that most celebrities don't wear any necklaces. Cost definitely not a factor for those people.

I think a nice necklace would complement the outfit, especially shoulderless gown.

What do you think?

It's probably due to all the flash photography. The jewels' sparkles reflect onto the skin and the women look like they've got pink and yellow and green and blue little blotches all over their necks and decolletage in the photos

I have noticed this for a long time. I used to enjoy watching celebrities at awards shows in years (many) past, because the jewelry completed the look and imparted that sizzle and glamour. I find all of them boring anymore.

Agreed. The necklace completes the glamorous look. I am so puzzled that they don't wear it.

May be it is the American things. I fell like there is more necklace during Cannes festival.

No, not all necklines need a necklace. Sometimes the more simple the better.

Agree. Depending on the dress, necklaces can ruin the look.

Hmmmm I don't know...many celebs over the years have worn all sorts of jewelry and I've never seen that happen.

I actually prefer a minimalist style; the less the better. Earrings with no necklace makes a nice simple presentation, and shows off the dress, body, and hair.
