I would wear a polo, interlock or pique in the middle of winter if it were warm enough to make it desirable to do so.

I never thought of them as for any particular season, beyond the obvious.

My shade of turquoise is known as "Blue Radiance". It is a one of IZOD's typical available colors for spring.

As for the weight of my interlock polos, most of mine are fairly lightweight. They are thicker than single knit jersey fabric, but not too heavy.

This.

I mean, some colors are more spring colors and whatnot but a polo shirt is a polo shirt. A light salmon polo might be more of a spring color while a burgundy is more of a fall color but it's still a polo shirt. Not everyone pays any attention to colors and season, I don't. It's just particularly funny with a polo shirt because, well, it's a polo shirt. It's about as basic as it gets. It's like asking if t-shirts are only for the summer. I wear them year round because it's a t-shirt. If it's cold I put something on over it. December/January it's usually too cold, but the other ten months it's t-shirt/polo weather here. Probably want a light sweater or jacket for the mornings and evenings.

Hi PinkJazz --

I live out in AZ with my Hubby and Spec Needs Brother and they both wear cotton knit Polo shirts year-round. They wear a variety of colors; mostly blue, navy blue, green, tan, aqua, yellow, and lavender. In the fall, it is usually the tans, greens, and navy blues. Out here in Arizona, you will be fine with these shirts for most of the year. My guys wear long-sleeved shirts December-February when it is cooler outside. And, both pique and interlock knits are fine!!!

I like polos. You can get performance polos for sports (golf/tennis, e.g.) or comfort polos. For years I purchased the RL super soft polos. Here is a guide to what they are currently offering:

i dislike polos so i dont ever wear them really. That being said, for something as common as a polo, it's really just going to vary on the actual weather conditions that day compared to what activities one is doing etc. more so than saying one particular style is appropriate for a certain season.

I was thinking about this, and instead of asking if they are appropriate for fall/winter, perhaps instead I should ask why are they less featured in fall/winter compared to spring/summer? Perhaps interlock polos simply look better in brights or pastels than they do in darks or neutrals? I like the look of a nice light pink interlock polo, but I wonder if an interlock polo in a dark or neutral shade would look out of place.
