I'm 168cm 65kg male South American, am I considered a petites? I have had people say this to me sometimes disparagingly. Personally I'm ok with my size because I can stay light on my feet. Sometimes just more difficult to playing basketball...

5' 4" (162 cm) and under is considered petite for clothing in the US, weight doesn't matter, and petite usually refers to females.

Although the word could reasonably refer to a person, it has been used for a woman's dress size as far back as the 1920's. Most speakers of American English think of that meaning first.
