I bought a faux leather jacket but haven't worn it or removed the tags. Now I'm wondering: will I perspire wearing this manmade leather?

Based on experience? Yes.

I have two and don't have any issues. I wear them when it's the appropriate temp for that jacket.

You will likely sweat like crazy because the fabric doesn't "breath."

The faux material is more breathable because it is made by humans, for humans. Faux leather generally made of plastic, PVC or other synthetics.

I have three. Compared to real leather, they are warmer. This can be a good thing.

faux leathers tend to breathe less imo. This can be better or worse depending on the person. Generally to me it has meant they feel 'warmer'. You're not going to be perspiring any more than you would with real letaher unless the temperature is inappropriate for the jacket though.

Is this what is sometimes called 'pleather?'

I have a couple of them, they are lightweight but tend to make me uncomfortably warm unless it’s really cold out. I prefer real leather.
