People who wear glasses on their head (not their eyes) (brown, light)

So, I still remember the 80s. Everyone used to wear their glasses not so much on their eyes, but on top of their head...

Lately, I've been told that's a definite no-no these days, and looks dorky. Especially since it just gets oils from your hair (no matter how well washed) into the lenses.

That said, I have to make many trips into the back-room at work (the stocking room), and it is a requirement to wear safety glasses there. It's ok, they give us these fancy ones that you can not even tell at a glance if they are dorky safety glasses or not.

However, I do not store them in my apron when I walk out on the floor again, because they will get scratched up too easily that way. So instead I hold/wear them on the top of my head.

Curious, when you see someone wear glasses that way, does it REALLY look dorky, or am I just paranoid from what other's have been saying on the issue?

Nope, looks normal, If you do not have enough light in one place, it is appropriate to put the lenses on your head temporarily.

Now, use the glasses in that way as a fashion statement, it's ridiculous IMO.

I've never heard anybody call it dorky. Pretty much everybody I know does it. I don't do it with my seeing glasses, because then I couldn't see. I do it with sunglasses all the time

Seems perfectly fine to me. I've never heard a thing about it one way or another.

Reading glasses, no, but I like to hold my hair back with my sunglasses, and I like how it looks.

I've frequently got a pair of readers on my head, and I couldn't care less whether it's acceptable.

True family knack..passed on . My mom would often lose her glasses...she was notorious for losing them..
With a bit of ire..she'd say...where's my glasses! And I'd look around her recliner..under her chin or tossed in a book . Finally I got her the necklace that holds her glasses. She'd toss it up on her head many a time...and say...where's my glasses! I fondly look back at those moments.. because a'Las such is my quandary most days. ...
Now my son gets to hear me say...where's my glasses...?? And he'll say...try the top of your head...
And sure enough...there they are
Can't say I know what a 'dork' looks like since most days I'm looking for my glasses and not a dork

I wear Clics from Amazon, that have a magnetic piece in the front. You pull on the frame and they separate. Let them drop and they hang around your neck. I used to lose glasses all the time from falling off and getting lost in grass. I've had the same pair of clics for several years now. Highly recommended!

I often have my glasses on top of my head. I need new glasses, as my prescription has changed. I can't see the computer well enough with them on, and I can't read with them on. Up on my head they go. Dorky or not.


But I'm 61. Dorkiness is not a big factor to me.
