BTW I just wanted to add, I suspect most men really don't care about women's nails at all, except men with nails fetishes. I think most men keep mum just because they know it's better to shut up than have a woman mad at you.

My theory is that women wear those long, fancy acrylics for other women, not for men. Would any women care to comment on my theory? I've figured out women enough to know that a lot of the things they do are for competing with other women, and not for men at all. Comments?

I do admit I like the art designs they come up with (because I'm a hobbyist artist) but the sheer impracticality overrides my artistic appreciation.

True, nails are about the last thing a guy will notice on a woman.

My significant other is a professional dancer and teaches fitness (along with dance) classes and is in excellent shape. Yet she has her nails done. And it definitely costs way less than a gym let alone a private trainer. She should know, she charges for private fitness and dance lessons.

Since I've lived in Florida most of my life I've always worn toe nail polish. I hate naked toes on a woman unless she has a nice tan and buffed or really clean & bright looking nails. :-) I've always had hard nails that grew quickly and most of the time they were polished. Now I have such deep ridges that without acrylics they just split horizontally so I do a thing, natural looking acrylic and I don't keep them too long.

Every man I've ever went out with has loved my polished toes & fingers.

Polish ain't too bad.

But when I see a female with nails so long as to inhibit normal activities, I kinda see it as odd.

I don't know about all men, but I can tell you unequivocally that my husband likes it very much when I polish my nails. I don't do it often, but when I do he never fails to compliment it.

Well, I’m a guy, and I like to see polish on ladies. My personal preferences for hands - “regular length” nails, not too long or the talon styles, but of course the final choice belongs to the individual. I like polish on hands and feet.

I'd say I prefer neatly manicured nails but with no nail polish.

Does polish strengthen the nails? I keep breaking my fingernails even though kept short and neat.

My guess is that he is talking about women who weigh 280.

For those who say they don't notice, I wonder if you notice if her nails were dirty, unkept, chewed on? I think all parts of our body should be taken care of. Short, well manicured nails and cuticles is just taking care of you (women or men) and always looks nice. And not everything has to be done so men will notice.
