I have a wide toe box and regular width heel and need shoes with some arch support.

I don't think those of us with special sizing needs should expect to find cheap shoes that work unless we get very lucky!

Thanks for the links and suggestions. I'm finding a nice selection in my size and price range, and have ordered a couple pairs already.

Try on some skechers. They have some really cute ones and the last ones I wanted (that of course they didn't have in my size) were exactly at your price point. They have a lot of really nice insoles, all manner of heavenly foam, and good support. They also tend to run large.

Masseys.com

Womanwithin.com

Fullbeauty.com

(The last two, the clothing tends toward plus sizes, but the shoes are large size and medium. Plus wide and extra wide.)

at least you have a M width. mine is double narrow AND my foot's long
My poor daughter has the same type of feet
There is no such thing as cheaper shoes for us so sometimes I find myself wearing M width just to save money

Footsmart dot com is good when they have sales, or Amazon as another poster suggested. Shoes dot com gives 30% off a lot and you can build up rewards, but I agree with others that anything under $50 might not give you the quality and/or support you might need.

I got plantar fasciitis 30 yrs ago when I bought a cheap pair of shoes from Payless and I could barely walk a week later. Now I only buy comfortable shoes that are made well, and also buy sole insets for shoes. Amazon has some nice ones.

Well made shoes will also last longer

You get what you pay for when it comes to shoes! I'd try to find some Ecco's at Nordstrom Rack. Ecco's are great shoes. Comfy, last a long time. Not super expensive when you can get them on sale.
