I was wondering, do you dress up for Christmas and/or New Year's parties?
I do myself. I typically wear red button down shirts to Christmas parties. This year on Christmas Eve I will wear a red and black gingham shirt. For New Year's I will wear a pink and white cotton/linen blend gingham shirt.
Depends on the party and where it is/who is attending. This year, the Christmas parties for my two jobs will be very low key (one includes bar-type games in a non-fancy place), so I'm not planning to dress up. Last year, one was a casual brunch at a decent place (I wore a nice sweater) and the other one was a fancy dinner with cocktails in a high rise (I wore a fancy dress).
I'm probably doing a similar thing on Christmas like today (TG), which was relaxing at home & I have no NY's parties to go to. I DO have a few musicals, a harvest festival, evening lantern festival, Universal Studios, & an aunt's birthday party to attend a couple days before Christmas.
I'll wear my comfortable, yet sequinned clothing, rhinestone jewelry, & clutch. Maybe my sleek, new black sweater dress on one of those occasions too!
well since I work from home most of the time I have been invited to the Christmas party at the marriot in downtown Charleston which will be an hours drive for me so im going to wear something really nice and formal . My husbands job has a really nice Christmas party in Hilton head sc at a country club so I will have to wear formal there too as well .
I'll be in Santa Fe for Christmas Eve and Christmas and it will be very, very cold.
We have a show at the Lensic that starts at 7, then the Farolita walk outside - probably less that 20 degrees - then walk back and go to midnight mass.
I figure I will wear tights, leggings, a long skirt and long john top and a sweater, and coat. Uggs maybe. May be sweating at the show and freezing outside, sweating in church.
It's a problem, I tell ya. No time to go back to the hotel after the show to change to outside clothes. Tsk tsk.
Christmas day we will go to Buffalo Thunder casino for their extensive buffet, probably wear jeans, oversized Coogie Cashmere sweater, Ugg Maylin boots.
NYE we have a show at home, at the Bass Hall. I think I will wear my tried-and-true lace knee length skirt, black turtleneck, silver leather moto jacket, tights, Frye boots.
Christmas Day, I am cooking for ~18 people, so I will be in jeans and a tshirt so I can cook and move easily. I always mean to change before guests arrive, but taht never happens.
New Years Eve...nope. Nothing fancy. A bunch of us friends gather at one of our homes and we just hang out together, hoping to be able to stay awake until midnight.

well I was just informed by my job they have changed venues and I don't know about my husbands job I think they may have too so we shall see . I love the way things can change on a dime . LOL.
I've been so far out of the office party routine on the years on mid shift (the parties were happening smack in the middle of my sleep time), I haven't been to one in years. Now that my shift has changed, I don't really know. I'm still trying to find my place, my role in the day light.
I guess I will have to wait and see, see how I feel about things this year and wait for the next one to put them in effect.
