I find this kind of funny, some of my coworkers are early 20s, and it seems they all love the Nike Jordan shoes, I believe they come out with a different model every year and have been doing this since the 80s, they are very expensive shoes.

Most of them were not even alive yet or just being born when Michael Jordan was big in basketball, he retired close to 15+ yrs ago, it just seems strange his brand would still be that popular to young kids, who some, may not even know who he is!

He created a brand, so....the brand is popular is the reason?

He is also a legacy in basketball, anyone with any interest in it will know who he is.

Chuck Taylor died in 1969 but that hasn’t hurt Converse at all.

Legends transcend generations.

In 2011 (from the date stamp on the tag), brand new, they would have been sold for maybe about $80. I've put a lot of miles/hours on them. They'd probably be worth about that much today in new condition, if not less.

Unless there's some special contition like a limited run, reissues of items generally aren't as collectable, nor hold their value nearly as well, as originals. Mainstream Jordan reissues are pumped out of China or wherever in large numbers for the masses.

I play basketball and they make a very comfortable, high quality shoe. But ever since the Kaepernick campaign, I refuse to buy anything from Nike. Have now switched to Adidas.
