if jackets, coats, parkas, ponchos, etc. can be considered,
then 14.
5 Camo for hunting (different patterns for the terrain...including the rain poncho).
3 for work. one new one, another just about worn out, and the company logo one.
2 raincoats.
2 that do not fit me anymore.
2 old ones, but still good and warm.
Two. One is a big, bulky down-filled castoff from DS that I've mended a few times and the other is a beautiful camel hair coat I bought 34 years ago for $450 and have no need to replace.
Those who get real winter that last few months with snow & below freezing weather, how many winter jackets do you own/use on regular base? I use to follow the theory of "I just need one, use it everyday, until it dies. Then replace it with a new one". I use this theory for shoe, jackets, purse..etc
But lately I become aware of style and fashion and variety & realize people around me have multiple of these items. That my way of life, is not the norm. So how many do you actively use and how many sits in back of your closet for "fancy event". Not counting the "i am saving it for when i lose weigh jacket" because i have those & they are useless.
I have way too many coats!
Mink Jacket
Coyote fur jacket with hood
Pendleton camel wrap coat with belt
5 North Face casual jackets
1 North Face down filled cold weather jacket
2 Costco fleece coats
2 Eileen Fisher wool funnel neck jackets.
I wear the North Face cold weather jacket and the Eileen Fishers jackets the most. Can't bear to part with my coats, tho.
I have a few winter coats from years past. They still fit me, so I keep them around. However, these days I just layer up. I'll have a layer of thermal long johns underneath. Then add a fleece jacket topped with a thermal hoodie. And I always have a fleece scarf around my neck. If it's super cold outside, I will add a woolen cap.
I have five heavy winter coats but wear only two of them consistently. One is a dressier pea coat and the other is a 3 in 1 parka.
