Exactly what I was going to say - you beat me to it. (I would have added - over-priced/marked-up labels)

I don't consider Tommy Hilfiger high-range at all! (more low to mid-range, lots of it at TJMaxx and the like)

Never really. My husband would just say buy whatever you like. I like the whole range of things fashion-wise. I will shop at Neiman Marcus and just as easily find something cute at Target, but I'm pretty picky about shoes and bags...the leather has to feel soft and well made. So that is where my husband will step in and tell me to pick out X for my birthday/Christmas/anniversary.

Never. The most carefully chosen, appropriate, but inexpensive gift is worth more than any luxury object bought just because of a status label.

I consider Tommy low to mid as well.

Macys used to be mid-high but now is low-mid.

Not that any of this means much in my life, but ... this is the fashion forum.

Burberry is definitely luxury...

I consider Tommy Hilfiger premium, which is technically not the same as luxury. I don't think I have actually ever gotten anything from a true luxury brand. This thread asks whether you have recieved either premium or luxury fashion items as gifts; I never said that they were the same.

Well, then the answer is yes.

I get a lot of Perry Ellis, Kenneth Cole, Polo, etc.

With the advent of outlet malls, I actually think corporate premium is the base wardrobe of America now.

I mean, you can save a little bit of $ with Walmart type stuff, but not much...

Never. I don't know if anyone from my immediate family has ever given or been given such a gift.
