I have been searching for a particular shirt, a successor to a Paul Smith shirt that I bought in London, that was a medium blue with pink stripes. I have not been able to find it, either the stripes are the wrong width or color. I liked that shirt until there was a mishap with some substance when it was sent for cleaning. I think it was laundered improperly that rendered the fabric fragile, such that when I moved in it, the fabric tore next to the placket, and upon examination was practically see through in that particular area.
I do sometimes have sartorial successors to past items, though with some items, I tend to be particular in their care, so that I do not have the experience of an item being destroyed.

Well, I'm getting ready to say my final goodbye to my Spring 2015 Interlock Polo in Fairy Tale. I will be donating it to someone in need of clothes. I will make someone happy, and I will be happy with its spiritual successor the Spring 2018 Windward Interlock Polo in the same color.
I'm happy to report that my past clothes have all attained moksha. Sounds like yours have some karma issues to resolve before they can end that pesky samsara you have going on with them...
