Regarding how men view women and makeup. (guys, girl, light)

I am 34 and feel that I am significantly more aware and introspective than most men when it comes to the reality of women and makeup and fashion in general. Most guys are woefully unaware how despite what they will say, the vast majority DO indeed prefer women that wear makeup, jewelry and the like. I have been on many forums where you have a topic asking men if they prefer women to wear or not wear makeup and most guys respond with comments such as "I don't want women that cake their faces" "No way, I want natural looking women" etc. etc. What's quite paradoxical about it is that so ignorant as most men are when it comes to things such as makeup, the truth is most indeed DO prefer women that wear makeup.

Of course I certainly realize that not ALL women are into applying makeup, obviously, and there's certainly nothing wrong if they don't, but for me, every woman I have been with do, and I find the whole process rather fascinating. When I was 15 and started dating my first girlfriend I asked her if I could watch her apply her makeup and it's been the case for every woman I have been with since. Not every time of course, just that I have found it very interesting. Even for women that can expertly apply makeup and make it look "natural" can take lots of makeup and time to get right.

There are many ways women can be viewed as attractive just being say slim, petite, but just being in overall good health for example.

I think a very interesting psychological study would be if say you had 24 women that were all in excellent physical shape and were otherwise viewed as "pretty" but say you had half of them not wear any makeup, jewelry or the like, just wearing typical t shirts and jeans, and you had the other half wearing makeup (albeit very good and natural looking) mixed them all together and had men looking for women go in. I would bet despite men saying how they don't care about women wearing makeup, nevertheless, the women that did have the makeup would end up getting far more attention.

I am in no way trying to bash women that don't, or saying women can't be attractive if they don't wear makeup by ANY means, just noticed how I have seen so many men say they don't care if women wear makeup, that it doesn't matter to them, that they view it as just "caked up faces" when the truth is, the majority of men DO indeed prefer it, but so ignorant they are they don't realize it.

because men only considers make up to be lipstick and eye liner? look, I don't know what all of those 20 layers of make up women put on do, if one is left out, I couldn't tell.

so yes, "light" makeup is what most people think of as no make up

like painting a house, you only see the last layer of paint and say it is a good paint job based on it. ignoring the primer and the first layers of paint coats

Makeup can be good. However if I can tell you are wearing makeup I will probably think it is too much.

So:

-Makeup to hide wrinkles/blemishes...no problem
-Strange, unnatural looking colors (i.e. blue eyelids, overly dark lipstick, etc)...not attractive
-Painted nails...utterly ridiculous (IMO)

However, your body, do what you want.
