I am just starting this series, and am blown away by the fashion.

It is set in NYC in 1958 - I was growing up during that time, and am mad about the high quality of the fabric that was available (sadly, no more) as well as the cut of the clothing . . . the design was exquisite!

This article showcases the wardrobe designer and explains some of the thinking and inspiration behind her choices:

It's sad, but the original article shows all of the looks, but when I copied it to make the link, the looks are gone.

I started Season 1 yesterday and finished it this morning, and I am 4 episodes into Season 2 right now.

They are all quite fashionable! Coifed hair, perfect makeup, walking everywhere in high heels. Except Susie! I am more like Susie. I prefer practicality and comfort!

I binge watched and finished all of the episodes the first week season two came out. One of the joys of the series are the clothes! They are not only gorgeous but so much fun to see!

I can remember some of the clothing as a young girl. Mom wearing shirtwaist dresses, hats & gloves when she went out. Me wearing skirts & dresses to school since pants weren't allowed until 1969 (as a freshman in high school ....FINALLY!...once the jeans went on they never came off!).

Though the clothing is so attractive on the show I can remember just how uncomfortable it all was. I enjoy seeing it (loved Mad Men too!) but I would never want to go back to wearing those outfits!
