I ordered a pair of shorts from Eddie Bauer, and today I spent the morning having quality time with myself at TJ Maxx. I tried on 12 tops and bought 3. The heat switch is about to get flipped here, so the goal is to have enough hot weather clothing ready to go.

Oh yes, have shopped online but finished now. Lost a bit of weight so needed a few things. Had thrown out really old and tattered shorts so bought a few, a white pull on pant...a few tops with patterning...seems all my clothes are solids so must try to find patterns I like for variability. New sandals, as I'm very hard on them for some reason....they last only a few seasons.

Two new pairs of ballet flats to replace the ones I wore out, new tank tops in several different colors, two sun dresses, white crepe wide leg pants, two pairs of espadrilles I couldn't decide which color I wanted more, a silk sleeveless top, two pairs of my favorite jeans that were on clearance, and some tees in various colors. Vacation in 3ish weeks.

Believe it or not, I'd never been to my local TJ Maxx. I'm mostly a consignment shop kind of girl with a not-so-big fashion budget. But my friend was recommending the clearance section at TJ Maxx -- so there I went.

Found three tops, a pair of nicely-fitting, lighter weight, skinny jeans and a very nifty jacket I really like. They all co-ordinate with one another.

Total tab for the five items?

$75 plus change. I'm a convert. All set for my upcoming trip with some new clothes.

Purchased several items so far. Several white waffle weave cotton blend Eileen Fisher tops, a olive green silk EF tiered maxi skirt, a Ralph Lauren striped linen top to match the EF skirt, some Native American jewelry pieces.

I just bought a new spring purse - a light tan crossbody Yves St. Laurent. It’s pretty.

Shoes next... I’m now on the search for kitten heel or medium heel sandals. I like the geometric/block heel sandals that are out. So glad heels are lower and more comfortable this season. I also like the comfort of wedge heels, but not seeing much of that.

I’m thinking about selling some of my 5”+ heels, but my daughter is telling me to hold onto them. I just don’t think I’ll wear heels that high ever again.

I bought two of their tees. They washed up well. I like them.
