Default Orthodontist...dont want to seem rude

Hello,

Im not sure if this is the proper place for this post.
Im getting my braces off in about two months and my orthodontist wants to file my teeth. I had my two front teeth filed because i chipped them when I was young. Its two upper incisors and the lower front four that are naturally jagged. They dont bother me though. I kind of like them. I dont want to be rude with my orthodontist but how can I tell him I dont want my teeth filed without him thinking Im a weirdo? I dont think jagged edges are ugly. Plus, a lot of times teeth get fled slightly crooked and I can see a downward slope on the teeth of my friends. Help!!

Dont be embarassaed - the orthodontist works for you - you are the one paying him the big bucks - I see lots of model types with those kinda fangy teeth - they look good on some people.

The orthodontist is just doing his job. People pay him to give them the "perfect" smile. To him, filing your teeth is standard practice in creating the perfect smile.

If it doesn't matter to you, let him know. He won't be offended.

They are paid to make the perfect smile ... if it doesn't bother you at this time say so. You can always go back later if you decide to change your mind. If it isn't broken, don't fix it! ... Right? Best of luck and stand your ground!

Filing isn't a big deal--but if you don't want to, don't!
