When your workout wear gets sweaty and stinky and stained with dried sweat and salt, if it's white, you can BLEACH it and make it look all clean and white again.

Colored stuff, you can't bleach it.

Apparently the use and function of bleach is becoming another one of those lost arts.

Why worry about coordinating your outfits. Most people are at the gym to get a workout. Not to profile.

Because we're mostly very athletic regulars and you don't want to look like a dork around other athletic regulars. The New Year's resolution people who show up for just a few weeks in January look like dorks (guys wearing coral short shorts, etc.).

For a lot of people, the primary purpose of going to the gym is to preen, not to workout.

These fashionistas don't particularly care about their form, but by God every hair is going to be in place and they're going to impress everyone with their meticulously-planned attire... or so they think.

Oh I missed the "detox through your feet pads" being touted.

Of course those were made and sold by dishonest, low class, shady people.

No one is going to ever think I am trying to impress anyone with my socks or any other clothing item at the gym. I try to impress with my workout.
Let's see...this guy wants to impress me with his socks...that guy wants to impress me with his workout...hmmm.

Give me the socks guy, any day of the week!

Even if you look like a dork to other "athletic regulars", what impact will it have on your workout?
Will it reduce your squat 1RM by 20%, or will you be banned from deadlifting?
