Look into Vans. They're made in the U.S. and are available in the colors you want. I used to own a shoe store and had a Vans size 20 on display. Any store that sells them should be able to special order.

The best sale I ever made was a pair of Vans. A young man, who had never been able to wear anything other than big, clunky boots with steel braces and a 4-inch-thick sole for the prescription he needed, was able to have a pair of Vans made for him that looked much like normal athletic shoes. When he tried them on he was so happy he started crying; then his mother started crying. For the first time in his life he was able to wear shoes like all his friends wore -- athletic shoes. It's a great company, or at least it used to be.

Nice try shoe store owner, but I'm pretty sure Vans hasn't made shoes in the USA for about 20 years. Vintage ones are out there, but new ones are definitely imported.

You can add Keen to the list though. I bought a pair of their hiking shoes about a year ago that were made here. Like with most USA made products, you really have to search for them since only a few of their models are Made in the USA.

Thanks for correcting me, bfrabel. I haven't sold shoes for about 30 years. I tried to check it out before making the above post and thought I'd confirmed that Vans are still made in the U.S., but apparently at least most are manufactured overseas. That's not to say ANY are made in the U.S., but I can't find anything saying they aren't either. I went online and asked in a short chat session with a Vans employee, and all he could say was that he thought some were still made in the U.S., but he wasn't sure. Sheesh!

Well, at one time they were great, but I guess it's getting to be nearly impossible to actually manufacture shoes and clothing in the U.S. and continue to be profitable. Sad. Many other great U.S. businesses have either been swallowed by large businesses or gone bankrupt in the same time period. I hate to see it happen. So many jobs are gone.

But the main question, I believe, was finding women's shoes in size 12, and the Vans website indicates at least some are available up to size 19.5. And in pink.

My daily hikers are Keens. They're nice boots but are made in Thailand.

I checked and most of the pink vans just go to women's 11.5. And they're not as cute as the
Sperry offerings. The Vans look clunky and less fashionable. Cheaper, but Sperrys are prettier.

How do they look clunky? They make skate shoes and all their shoes are canvass. Even with patterns their shoes are simple and basic. Now a pair of Air Max... those are clunky.

My shoes come in 12. They're made in Italy, though. They're new and I will be able to have other colors if they sell.

It's just a subjective observation. If you compare the photographs, you can see for yourself. A men's size 10.5 works for a women's size 12 in boots and (even pink) men's skate shoes.

I love SAS shoes, made in San Antonio, TX. They are not *orthopaedic* shoes but designed for comfort, fit, come in a large range of sizes (for men and women), and although they are a bit expensive, they are worth it.
